Emei Mountain

Chengdu is the capital of the "Heavenly State" -Tian Fu Zhi Guo. Located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the center of Chengdu Plain, Chengdu covers an area of 12.3 thousand square kilometers or 4,749 square miles. It has a population of over 11 million. Chengdu is a significant center for politics, commerce and military. The biggest tourist attraction here is the Emei Mountain range.

Emei Mountain, Chengdu is one of the best landscape beauties in China. The scintillating mountain range stretches more than 200 kilometers. Situated at 160 kilometers away from southwest Chengdu, this mountain range attracts thousands of tourists every year.

This mountain range is completely wrapped by lush green trees. Various kinds of trees grow here. Rows of tall and straight trees lend an amazing beauty to the Emei Mountain range. The summit of the Emei Mountain rises 3099 meters above the sea level. Tourists may climb as high as 3077 meters. Some of the peaks of Emei Mountain range are very steep. It is a pleasure to drive on the roads of the Emie Mountain range. The roads are wide and the turns are easy to maneuver.

The Emei Mountain range, Chengdu has a legacy of rich culture. Legend holds that an old man by the name of Pu, more popularly known as Old Pu lived in the 6th Wing Ping year of King Ming in East Han Dynasty. One day when he saw a magic deer, he followed it up to the mountains. He reached the Golden top. But all his effort went in vain as the deer suddenly disappeared. Then he met a monk by the name of Bao Zhang. The monk told him about who actually the deer was. He told that the Puxian Buddha had been transformed into a deer. Old Pu became a monk soon after and started worshipping Pusa.
